Disable Annoying Ads On Your Android Device Today (For Both Rooted And Non-Rooted)

You will have to agree with me that pop up ads is very annoying when you play games on your phone. They are low down the zeal to win most times.

Most times, these Ads are found on games you download from websites and apps that provide you with free content and free services. These websites and apps are being paid by companies to advertise these pop up ads on their software. Now this is how these websites and App creators keep their businesses running.

Various processes through which these Ads can be stopped or removed are mentioned below and a short tutorial on how to use them given

·         Software 1- Adblock Plus (ABP)

Use of this method blocks every ad that dares show its face up on your mobile device. Various Adblocker applications exist which you can always choose from. Adblock Plus and Adway are quite good choices and a good number of people already use their services on their mobiles.

How do I make use of this Adblock Plus
Use of Adblock Plus cannot work without sideloading the App. Sideloading is necessary because ad block applications cannot be found on Google Play store since they have been removed.  To install any ad-blocker, you must sideload it.
Basically this means that you have to install the application with the APK file.

Procedure:
  1. Locate Settings on your device, go to Applications (On devices running Android 4.0 or higher, go to Security)
  2. Click on Unknown Sources
  3. If this option is unchecked, check it off. Click OK when a confirmation pops up.
Now let’s proceed to installation of ad-blockers.

Installation and Configuration of Adblock Plus
Go to your browser, search for Adblock Plus apk for Android. The APK file: adblockplusandroid-version.apk download link will come up or simply click HERE.

Download and locate the file, then Tap to install (preferably go to your file manager to do this). Choose Open App Manager and select Install.

For rooted android devices:

Once you successfully install AdPlus Blocker, Open it and Super user permissions will be be asked for. Accept all and you are ready to go.

For non-rooted Android devices:

Some extra manual steps are required here. If your device is a 3.1 version mobile device or less, enter your advanced WiFi settings;
-          run the application,
-          Select WiFi and available WiFi networks list will be displayed.
-          Probably you aren’t connected to any network so choose one now.
-          Long press the network option and a menu will pop up requesting you Modify network config.
-          Select Show advanced options (tick box off).
-          Scroll down to proxy settings, select Manual, and several options will appear.
-          Set the Proxy to localhost and Port to the number given to you by Adblock Plus in your notification message area.

For devices running Android 2.3

-          Go to the WiFi settings, select Advanced Settings.
-          Search the displayed list for proxy hosts and port settings.
-          Set proxy host to localhost and port to the number provided by Adblock Plus.
