These days, most of us are
migrating to android mobile platforms. Here is an advice for you, before you give
away your BlackBerry device, it is very important you ensure that all your data
is securely deleted from the phone.
This is can be referred to as
"Formatting" or "Security wipe" and is followed by complete
wiping off of all the phone data via the
BlackBerry operating system which phone itself runs on.
This format can also be performed
even if the phone is not working properly or you probably want to install a
software update to the phone.
This can be done following these
steps
1. Turn on your device.
2. Goto the "Options"
menu.
3. Click the "Security
Options" menu.
4. Click on "General
Settings" option.
5. Now select "Wipe
Handheld."
6. Type the security check "blackberry"
when it prompts you to do so to confirm the wipe.
7. Congrats on your
successful wipe of phone data.
OR
On your phones default search
bar, type "Security Wipe" to locate it straight without following
steps 2, 3, 4 above. You'll see it under "Options" in your search
results.
