Galaxy Tab S unveiled by Samsung : See Release date, Specs, and Price

Samsung one of the big guns in the tech industry has unveiled yet another tablet at an event in New York on Thursday. This tab is designed to contest with Apple's iPad, despite offering larger screens at same price with the iPad.

Galaxy Tab S Specs

The biggest talking point of the Galaxy Tab S is its display. It's the first Super AMOLED display to appear on a Samsung tablet and it's the first thing that stands out when you pick up the devices.
Samsung's new tablet launches in two models, one in 8.4 inches and another in 10.5 inches. The iPad is also available in sizes quite close the South Korean company's new tablet line at 7.9 inches and 9.7 inches. Dimensions for the 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch Tab S are 8.4 by 4.3 by 0.25 inches and 9.7 by 6.9 by 0.25 inches respectively. The iPad measures 7.87 by 5.3 by 0.29 inches for the smaller variant while the bigger one measures 9.5 by 7.31 by 0.37 inches.
Specs
  • OS: Android 4.4 Kikkat
  • Dimension: 8.4 inch tab (8.4 by 4.3 by 0.25 inches) 10.5 inch tab (9.7 by 6.9 by 0.25 inches)
  • Resolution: 2,560 x 1,600 SuperAmoled display
  • Processor: Exynos 5 Octa core processor
  • Storage: 16 GB & 32GB internal memory, expandable microsd memory up to 128GB
  •  5MP rear, 1.2MP front
At first glance, the Galaxy S looks like a bigger Galaxy S5. It's therefore not surprising that the Galaxy S also comes with fingerprint scanner like the S5 that can enable up to eight people to log in with their fingerprints into different profiles.

Price

Samsung is placing a price tag for the 8.4 inch tablet at $399 (same price with the smaller iPad), while the 10.5 inch tab goes for $499.
